My name’s Simon Burley. I play, referee, design, and publish table-top role-playing games (TTRPGs).
In 2012 I produced my first self-published - and completely solo - TTRPG.
My wonderful wife suggested that I attend games conventions to playtest, demonstrate, and promote that game. In doing so, I discovered that there were many TTRPG conventions in the UK, and that I thoroughly enjoyed attending them.
What struck me was how different they all were: different sizes, different styles of organisation, different games, and different ways to sign up to referee or play. Yet they were all given the same name - games convention. In addition, it often took quite a lot of research to find out about some of them at all.
So, in 2015, I published a couple of diaries detailing my experiences at various UK conventions, to inform other people about the wide range of events on offer and what to expect when they arrived.
I soon realised that the best format for disseminating this information was a blog. As a result, I started the RPGs4All blog in 2016, and maintained it alongside my convention-going hobby until 2020, when everything shut down during the pandemic.
I returned to the blog in 2025. Although the content is good, I found it hard to navigate and felt it needed a revamp.
Welcome to the new RPGs4All.
This site is a refreshed and reorganised home for my writing about tabletop role-playing game conventions, with a particular focus on the games played and run, the experience of refereeing, and the dynamics at the table.
